Barbra Streisand appeared on the Academy Awards telecast this
evening in a pre-taped special segment discussing her
historic win as Best Actress of 1968. The segment was aired just
10 minutes into the show with Barbra reflecting on her award
winning performance. Footage from the 1969 broadcast was shown
with cameras on Barbra just moments after her name was
announced, and then on stage as she accepted her award. A
recently taped video of Barbra was also aired to mark the
occasion and to accompany the brief retrospective. In a moment
of modesty, here's how Barbra remembers winning her Best Actress
Oscar:

A tie? There were five
great performances. I mean, I felt mine was pretty good. Great
I wouldn't say, but good, you know, pretty good. I thought,
why don't they give us all plaques and be done with it, you
know? Hello gorgeous. It was great.
