(Dec 31, 2006) - As 2006 began, who could have predicted that the year's most exciting highlight would have been another Streisand tour? It was the greatest concert success of her career and was universally acclaimed by critics and the general public alike. We remember other notable events of 2006:

January: "The Barbra Streisand Album" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

February: Sasha Cohen skated to Barbra's recording of "Don't Rain on My Parade" at the Torino Olympics.

May: In a nationally televised interview, Mike Wallace finally made an apology to Barbra for his disrespectful 1991 interview on "60 Minutes."

September: The long awaited DVD of "A Star Is Born" hit store shelves.

October: Barbra opened in Philadelphia, the first stop of her North American concert tour.

November: Barbra sang a duet with Tony Bennett on his NBC television special.

Sadly, we lost two notable Streisand collaborators along the way. Class acts both, actress Maureen Stapleton and talk show host Mike Douglas will be missed.

We wish Barbra, and all of our website visitors a happy, healthy, and productive 2007.
