Barbra
was spotted in Indian
Wells, California
yesterday, attending a
conference called
"Health Matters." The
event, part of the
Clinton Global
Initiative was hosted
by former president
Clinton and moderated
by his daughter,
Chelsea.
The
objective
of
the
conference
was
to
identify
strategies
for
personal
health
and
the
health
of
others.
The
epidemics
of
obesity,
diabetes
and
heart
disease
in
America
were
focal
points
of
the
event.
Barbra,
who
is
active
in
raising
the
overall
awareness
of a
healthy
heart
lifestyle,
was
not
among
the
speakers.
However,
there
was
no
shortage
of
other
luminaries
to
take
the
stage
as
advocates
of a
healthy
lifestyle.
On-stage
participants
included
former
House
Majority
Leader
Dick
Gephardt,
former
U.S.
Surgeon
General
David
Satcher,
and
Presidential
Medal
of
Freedom
winner
and
tennis
star
Billie
Jean
King.

Every Breath They Take – Barbra & Sting to Duet?
September
23, 2011
According
to
Showbiz-411
blogger
Roger
Friedman,
Barbra
Streisand
is
quite serious
about
recording
a
duets
album
–
similar
to
the
one
released
by
Tony
Bennett
this
week.
And
Barbra
apparently
has
some
great
vocalists
in
mind
to
join
her
in
song.
After
running
into
Sting
at
the
Clinton
Global
Initiative
annual
awards
banquet
last
night,
Barbra
spoke
about
her
desire
to
record
with
the
one-time
front
man
of
The
Police
saying,
"I
think
our
voices
would
go
well
together."
Barbra
knows
Sting
through
their
tireless
work
on
various
environmental
causes.
Prior
to
their
reunion
last
night
in
New
York,
Barbra
and
Sting
met
up
at
the
2008 Oceana
Partners
Award
Gala
in
Los
Angeles,
a
benefit
that
honored
former
president
Bill
Clinton
(photo,

Barbra
first
spoke
of
her
interest
in
recording
a
duets
album
during
an
interview
with
USA
Today
last
month.
Other
recording
artists
on
Barbra's
wish
list,
according
to
the
article,
are
Seal
and
Beyoncé.
The Artist as Concerned Citizen
September
21, 2011
The
annual
Clinton
Global
Initiative
think tank is underway in New York, and as she does every year, Barbra
Streisand is in attendance. This
year,
Barbra
had the choice of attending such
interesting
seminars
as Green
Technology,
Women's
Health,
Early
Childhood
Education
and
Voices
for
Change
in
the
Middle
East.
Dozens
of
high
profile
world
figures
and
heads
of
state
have
already
addressed
the
gathering.
President
Obama
was
there
this
afternoon
and
commended
Bill
Clinton
and
the
CGI
participants
for
their
steadfast
commitments
toward
impacting
positive
global
change.
We
know
for
sure
that
Barbra
Streisand
attended
at
least
one
break-out
session
yesterday.
It
was
a
seminar
called
Sustainable
Food
Systems
moderated
by
her
pal,
Martha
Stewart.
Martha
tweeted
this
photo
of
Barbra
(right)
–
who
was
apparently
the
only
one
at
her
table
paying
attention.
