A 1960s Harvest Yields a Concert Bounty

November 1, 2006

Funny Girl
, Color Me Barbra, and The Second Barbra Streisand Album. They are perhaps three of the best albums Barbra Streisand has ever recorded. One classic performance after another comprise the body of these celebrated audio masterpieces  And now, these fan-favorite albums are being dusted off and given renewed life in Barbra's current concert tour.

At the first concert we attended (Philadelphia), nine out of Barbra's nineteen solo performances (including the overture) were culled from these three wonderful albums, proving the old adage that some things just improve with age. Recorded in the short span between 1963 and 1966, each of these three albums has been certified gold. The "Funny Girl" Broadway Cast album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2004.
