Oprah's Double Feature: "The Prince of Tides" and
"The Way We Were"
January 3,
2011
We didn't know what to
expect out of Oprah
Winfrey's new network,
OWN, but so far, things
are looking pretty good.
In it's first month on the
air, Oprah will present a
mini Barbra Streisand film
festival by offering a
couple of Streisand
classics.
The Oprah Winfrey Network
(a.k.a OWN) will
broadcast "The Prince of
Tides" and "The Way We
Were" in back-to-back
showings on Saturday,
January 15, with a repeat
showing of "The Way We
Were" later that evening.
The broadcast times are
posted on the
OWN web site.
Be sure to double check
your
local listings for the
broadcast times in your
area (they might actually
differ depending on your
cable or satellite
provider).
And since this is a new
network, we're not sure if
the broadcasts will
include any commentaries
before and/or after the
films (similar to what they
do over at Turner
Classic). We'll be tuning
in, just in case there are
any pleasant surprises.
Since 1996, Barbra
Streisand has been a
frequent guest on Oprah's
nationally syndicated TV
show, having made four
appearances. She was last
on "Oprah" this past
November in a special "Way
We Were" tribute episode
that featured an
appearance by Robert
Redford. |
