Love him or hate him, there can
be no denying the positive influence Jon Peters had on Barbra
Streisand's career during the 1970s. This one time hairdresser, who
went from producer of "A Star Is Born" to head of a major Hollywood
studio in near record time, has been honored with a star on the
Hollywood Walk of Fame.

"Star is Born" Co-producer
is Recognized
May 12, 2007
Jon Peters was
recently honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
in ceremonies that took place on May 1, 2007. Coincidentally
or by design, his star just happens to be located steps from
Barbra's, on the sidewalk in front of Grauman's Chinese
Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. The ceremony was attended by
Jon and his entire family, including Caleigh Peters,
Barbra's goddaughter.
Jon Peters and
Barbra were together during the 1970s. Some credit Peters
with reinventing Barbra's persona by introducing her to a
more younger audience. Peters produced Barbra's album, "ButterFly,"
and a hip new musical film called "A Star Is Born."
"A Star Is Born" is one of Barbra's greatest box-office
successes and certainly one of the most commercially
successful films of all time. Golden Globes were awarded to
"Star" as Best Picture (Streisand and Peters) along with
Best Actress (Streisand), Best Actor (Kris Kristofferson),
Best Song (Streisand and Paul Williams for "Evergreen") and
Best score (Paul Williams and Kenny Ascher).
Since that time, Jon Peters has served as chairman of
Columbia Pictures and is one of today's most successful and
influential Hollywood film producers.
