On the television
series, "Father of the Pride," Barbra Streisand made an "animated"
appearance. Her likeness was used in a spot on cartoon illustration that
was delightful to see. The show itself? Well, that's another story. |

Animated Barbra
September
28, 2004
Barbra
made a guest appearance, well
sort of, on the animated television
series, "Father of the Pride."
The episode aired on Tuesday,
September 28, 2004 on NBC. Overly
exaggerated cartoon versions of Barbra
and James visited their
equally animated compatriots, Vegas
showmen Siegfried and Roy, as part of the
episode's story line. This was a
completely "virtual" Barbra
Streisand television appearance, as
she did not
provide the voice over for her
character. After watching this
mediocre show, it's no wonder Barbra
chose not to get involved, that is,
if they even
bothered to ask.
"Father of the Pride" is produced by DreamWorks Animation and created by Jeffrey
Katzenberg.
Barbra did meet
"the real" Siegfried and Roy
at The Mirage
hotel in early
1993, presumably
in Las Vegas on a
scouting trip for
her upcoming
concert
performances.
