Barbra to Provide Running Commentary

September 11, 2006
She first talked in detail about it's release over three years ago at The Actors Studio, and now it's finally happening: Barbra's long anticipated "A Star Is Born" commentary-DVD will hit store shelves on November 28th. According to a press release from Warner Home Video, the DVD will commemorate the film's 30th anniversary and will include such bonus features as costume tests and deleted scenes. But the real treat will be Barbra's running film and bonus feature commentary. With the exception of "Yentl," Barbra's greatest labor of love was arguably "A Star Is Born." Not only did she act, sing and compose the film's Oscar and Grammy winning song, but her role as the film's executive producer kept Barbra deeply involved in every aspect of the film's production. Her commentary on this film should prove to be an insightful look into the making of one of the most commercially successful Streisand vehicles ever.
